New WCA Exclusive Member Insurance Benefits
 
The Wisconsin Chiropractic Association, in partnership with Benefit Advisors & The BenefitWorks, is excited to introduce NEW Association benefits for WCA members.

 

WCA has partnered with two companies for non-medical benefits, Companion Life Insurance and LegalShield. Together, these companies are offering WCA members the most innovative, practical, and unique benefits available.

The "Defined Contribution Plan" through Companion Life Insurance  is one-of-a-kind. Through this plan, you can offer big business benefits on a small business budget.

 

How it Works: Each DC office (with 2 or more employees) chooses a dollar amount that will go towards these benefits. Think of it as a 'gift card to the employee benefits store.' The minimum is only $25 per employee per month, but can be any amount either less or more than $25. Eligible employees are those who work more than 20 hours per week.The employees then choose between the following benefit offerings:

 

  •  Life and AD&D Insurance (*requires 100% participation)
  •  Voluntary Life Insurance
  •  Short-Term Disability
  •  Dental Insurance
  •  Vision Insurance
  •  Critical Illness Coverage

If the employee only spends up to the "Defined Contribution," he/she will owe nothing for benefits. If an employee chooses to spend more, any amount over will be payroll deducted. For a very low minimum monthly cost, you can now offer a full range of employee benefits without worrying about participation requirements or different contribution amounts per coverage offerings.

 

Base Life/AD&D
-Requires 100% employee participation
-Employer choice of an employee amount up to $50,000
-There is automatic coverage for spouses & children

Voluntary Life/AD&D
-Employee choice of up to $100,000

-Coverage options for spouses and children also available

Short-Term Disability
-Employer choice of elimination period and benefit duration
-Employer choice of up to 2 of the 3 weekly benefit amounts (Flat $100, Flat $200, or 60% of earnings up to $1,250)

Vision

-2 Plan options available
-$10 copay for annual eye exams

Dental
-4 Plan options available
-3 out of the 4 plans include orthodontia coverage for children
-100% coverage for preventative
-NO NETWORK RESTRICTIONS

Critical Illness
-$5,000 payout amount
-Covers heart attack, stroke, cancer, paralysis, etc

 

Group Long-Term Disability (2-9 employees, employer-paid) is available through Companion Life:

-Employer choice of elimination period
-2-5 employees: $3,000 maximum monthly benefit
-6-9 employees: $6,000 maximum monthly benefit - GUARANTEED ISSUE

 
 
Individual Long-Term Disability (2-9 employees, employer-paid) is available through Mutual of Omaha:
-Your choice of elimination period, benefit duration, and monthly benefit amount

LegalShield gives you and your employees the ability to pick up the phone and contact your law firm for any situation, traumatic or trivial, without ever receiving a high hourly bill. For a low flat monthly fee (or payroll deduction) you can have unlimited access to your law firm for advice and consultation.

Additionally, they monitor your driver's license, passport, SSN, social media sites, and much more, not just your credit files. Both benefits are available to DCs and their employees as follows:

 

  • No minimum participation. Any DC or employee can enroll online for the group rate on a direct pay basis.
  • With 5 or more employees enrolling, there's an option to payroll deduct the benefit. You can include this in your Defined Contribution Amount, expanding your benefit offering.
  • With a LegalShield Small Business Plan and 3 enrolling employees, you have the option to payroll deduct the benefit and can also include it in your Defined Contribution Plan.
