Chiropractic Staff - Initial Certification Information

Chiropractic Technician (CT)

Note regarding the new rule: All current CTs are grandfathered in and do NOT need any additional coursework (beyond the 6 CE hours needed for renewal). 

As of July 1, 2018, Wisconsin requires a minimum 12-hour core course for initial certification as a Chiropractic Technician. This new 12-hour course, called Chiropractic Technician Certification, includes topics that used to be covered in the “Patient History,” “Preliminary Exams,” and “Physiological Therapeutics Overview” classes.

Chiropractic Radiological Technician (CRT)
Beginning July 1, 2010, Chiropractic Radiological Technicians must have completed at least a 48-hour course in compliance with all of the components listed in Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter Chir 10.03 X-Ray Services.

Wisconsin Chiropractic Licensing Renewal

The 2017-2018 biennium for licensing renewal ends on December 14, 2018.

Biennial Chiropractic Continuing Education (CE) Requirements

DCs 
40 hours of approved continuing education every two years. 

CTs
6 hours of state-approved continuing education

CRTs
12 hours of approved chiropractic radiological training
