Takes place at WCA Spring Convention.

This 10-hour postgraduate education course employs active learning strategies.  This active learning approach to instruction permits students to engage advanced clinical training they study through writing, discussing, listening, and reflecting.  The doctors will receive didactic presentations that complement their active pursuit of knowledge and enhanced competence.

An innovative use of educational technologies (text, video, audio, images, interactive elements) provides valuable opportunities for an enhanced, interactive, more inclusive and engaging learning environment. The use of multimedia in teaching this course provides opportunities to present multiple representations of content (text, video, audio, images, interactive elements) to cater more effectively to the different learning styles of the postgraduate students.

Relevant learning opportunities through clinical case presentations and discussions augment evaluation and management skills, documentation, and differential diagnosis.

Dr. Lehman is an Associate Professor of Clinical Sciences at the University of Bridgeport/College of Chiropractic and Director of Health Sciences Postgraduate Education (HSPED). James completed his MBA at the University of New Mexico and doctorate in chiropractic medicine at the Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri.

James is a board-certified, chiropractic orthopedist. He teaches orthopedic and neurological examination and differential diagnosis of neuromusculoskeletal conditions. In addition, he provides clinical rotations for fourth-year chiropractic students and chiropractic residents in the community health center and a sports medicine rotation in the training facility of the local professional baseball team.

As Director of HSPED, Dr. Lehman developed the three-year, full-time resident training program in chiropractic orthopedics and neuromusculoskeletal medicine. The program offers training within primary care facilities of a Federally Qualified Health Center and Patient-Centered Medical Home. While practicing in New Mexico, he mentored fourth-year, UNM medical students.

Dr. Cielo works closely with referring doctors, primary-care physicians and legal counsel, providing current progress reports and any necessary documentation in order to expedite the healing process for his patients. Dr. Cielo treats athletes of all ages engaging in a wide variety of sports: professional boxers, wrestlers, football players, gymnasts, cheerleaders, baseball players, soccer players and triathletes. Dr. Cielo not only treats athletes but understands the amount of physical stress from athletic demands. He has competed in wrestling and boxing for 10 years. He is actively competing in Ironman, ½ Ironman, and Olympic distance triathlons. His last Ironman was in Brazil where he helped raise money to build a church in Tanzania, Africa. So, Dr. Cielo knows what it takes to achieve in and out of the office.
