New evidence suggests that opioid use rarely results in sustained improvement in pain control and function. At this 6 hour seminar, Dr. Patel will share information on new CDC recommendations focused on mitigating the harms of opioid use, and illustrate ways DCs can work in partnership with other medical professionals and with patients to assess the risks and address the damage caused by excessive use of prescription painkillers.
Dr. Patel will examine different forms and relative merits of opioids. Using case studies, Dr. Patel clarifies how interventional pain and chiropractic care can help improve patient outcomes. He will discuss alternative therapies, including spinal manipulation, that fall within the scope of Chiropractic.

Nilesh Patel, MD, MBA is board certified in pain management and anesthesiology. He has a particular interest in the treatment of advanced joint pain, whiplash and SI joint pain. He is focused on decreasing narcotic related deaths due to pain killer addiction.

*Submitted for 6 continuing education hours for DCs.
